Tens of Thousands Celebrate October 14th Revolution in Aden
Tens of thousands of Yemenis in Aden celebrated the October 14th, the 48th anniversary of the Yemeni revolution in the south that ended the British colonization Friday.
In Aden, thousands of thousands of protesters celebrated the event all in their own way, for the Southern Movement that demands an independent state in the south of Yemen celebrated the anniversary to assure its presence and its demands during the revolution in all over Yemen that demands the ouster of the Yemeni Presient, Ali Abdullah Saleh.
On the other hand, the Islah Islmic party, the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, in addition to a number of revolutionary bodies, organized a mass march in the city of Crater celebrating the October 14th. The march was attended by hundreds of women and children.
Since the very morning, thousands of Southern Movement supporters, who gathered from the neighboring southern Yemeni provinces, conducted a festival in the city of Sheikh Othman, raising the former flags of South Yemen and demanding the restoration of their former state. The festival was followed by a march then the Muslim sermon and prayer of Friday.
Another march was stage in the neighboring city of Mansoura in the afternoon, due to chronic disagreements among the Southern Movement different factions. It worth mentioning that the Southern Movement held another event in Radfan, in Lahej Province, on Wednesday morning for the same reason.
On October 14, 1963, a revolution broke out against the British colonization and the sultanates’ government of South Arabia in the south of Yemen, ended by the withdrawal of the British forces on November 30, 1967.
